Fall Outreach

This past week was Wayne's first week of classes. So needless to say this week has been pretty intense! We started off this week with a student mass and adoration on Tuesday. Then on Wednesday we got to get out on campus    With the Newman centers Ice Cream Social.

Look at all if these awesome people who came! It was Father's birthday so we even had an ice cream cake!  The team and I got to meet a lot of students, mostly freshman.

Here is me with one of the freshman!

Then yesterday we had the Newman BBQ and mass!  It was great to spend that time on campus !

      Newman Center BBQ on campus!

The rest of the weekend I spent on my families farm! It was great to get away for a night!

This week we are focusing on getting our bible studies up and running. I can wait to start investing in the students! We had over 100 students express an interest in bible studies! What a great way to start the year!

Please pray for me as I am praying for you!

Week 1 in Wayne

Well everyone I officially live in Wayne Nebraska! Thats right, I am here. This first week has been, well anything but normal. We started this week with meetings, time to plan, and a campus tour. We also spent a good chunk of time  getting ready for Freshman Move-In! This was our first big event of the year. So we started with making goody bags to hand out to the Freshman as we moved them in!

SOO MANY BAGS!!!

It was a lot of fun and great to meet everyone from the Newman Group and all the Freshman.

The rest of this weekend has been bits of working while having some time to settle in. So I have spent the weekend cleaning and packing/unpacking my apartment, and hanging out with some good friends! I even got to go to River Boat Days in Yankton (which I hear makes me officially a Northeast Nebraska Girl!)
We Rode rides, ate good food, and spent some time Shopping!
This week God has thought me a lot about how he knows my heart way better then I ever could. So I give you this challenge...Let God lead your heart. If you do that there will almost always be a smile on your face and a glow in your heart!

Purpose

Deo Juvante means "With Gods Help" in Latin. That is what it is going to take for me to be able to do this, God's help.

What is this you may be wondering, this is Mission Work. I am a missionary with FOCUS- The Fellowship of Catholic University Students and I have been assigned to Wayne State College.  I have lived in Nebraska my whole life (Except for the fours year that I went to college in Missouri) and I thought this would be my ticket out to a big city and a new world. I will be honest with you that when I first found out I was going to Wayne I was not very happy. But the Bible does tell us...

"Delight yourself in The lord, and He shall give you the desires of your heart" - Psalms 37:4

This was never more true. The more and more I got used to the idea of going to Wayne the more and more I knew that God was responding to the desires of my heart.

I am writing this blog for my mission partners, and family so they can keep up with what I am doing while I am working on Campus, but also for myself, so that I can take the time to remember that I am living an Grand Adventure.

I move to Wayne on Tuesday, the adventure has already started but this is when I will really dive in. As for right now it is time to pack. I have an apartment to move into.

Pray for me as I am praying for you!
